Five Rings Jiu Jitsu Competes at the 2017 Pan Jiu Jitsu Championship

Eleven Five Rings athletes travelled down to the Pan Jiu Jitsu Championship in Irvine, CA. It's one of the biggest BJJ tournaments in the world.

Back Row: Preston Bauder, Robert Wolfe, Ben Sutz, Alex Binam, Dan VanDetta
Front Row: TK, Louisa Bruschi, Robert Marti, Coach Tom, Micah Caputo

Not in picture: Leeza Rancourt and Charles Banh

It ran from March 16 - 19; a four day tournament with over 3,200 competitors.

All of our athletes gave their best effort - displaying tons of heart and grit as they prepared over the last 12 weeks.

We are proud of all our athletes ... it takes a TON of courage to go out and compete in such a competitive environment. Bravo for putting yourselves on the line and challenge yourself to be the best you can be. There were tons of wins and learns - we had three athletes take bronze / 3rd place --> Leeza Rancourt, Ben Sutz, and Robert Marti.

Our bigger team, Ribeiro Jiu Jitsu took 4th in Adult Male and in Master. It was super cool to see so many people do so well.

It was a FANTASTIC experience all the way around - lots of laughter, smiles, and days FULL of Jiu Jitsu. It was a super week! ! !

I can't wait to do it again next year! ! ! Start making your plans now! ! !  :-)
