Coach's Corner - Thoughts, Tips, and Guidance for a Successful Jiu Jitsu Journey | #38

Less is More

Learning is fun. In particular, I find learning something new interesting and exhilarating.

However, sometimes learning new things for the sake of something new (the "new-ness" of it) can be counter productive.

At some point in your Jiu Jitsu journey, you realize that it's not the athlete that knows the most that wins, it's the athlete that knows what he / she is doing better than their opponent that wins.

This week's focus is on that principle - less is more.

Check it out:

So, what moves do you consider a fundamental part of your game?

Can you "go deeper" in your understanding of them?

What moves do you know but that really don't match with your overall strategy / approach? Is it time to put those away and focus on your core components?

Is it time to stop collecting moves and start going deep on the elements of your game?

Food for thought on your Jiu Jitsu journey.  ;-)

Do. Daily. Forever! ! !
