December Curriculum Cycle
Game Plan Development
We want to help our kids develop a Jiu Jitsu game plan; to increase the overall understanding of the sport (how to play the game) and for those boys and girls wanting to participate in tournaments. Our focus will be on giving them a clear sense of what to do and how to do it.
Week 1 Dec. 2 Starts (single legs, double legs, osoto gari, guard pulling)
Week 2 Dec. 9 Getting to their hot spot (mount, back, guard)
Week 3 Dec. 16 Maintain point advantage and finishing (armbars, chokes, etc.)
Dec. 20 – Jan. 5 Winter Holiday Break / No formal classes
Week 4 Dec. 28 Intra-school tournament / Jamboree from 10 am – 12 pm
10 – 11 | Game plan review for the kids
10 – 11 | Parents as coaches clinic
11 – 12 | Tournament matches / Jamboree
Don’t miss out … we are going to hit game plan development, good sportsmanship, and being gritty in a competitive environment hard during the month of December. There will be lots of drills, practice, and scrimmage matches. Students will have the opportunity to earn four “dazzle” stripes; one for each skill and one for participating in the intra-school tournament / jamboree. It’s going to be GREAT! ! !
