Brown Bag Seminars to begin on Saturdays at Five Rings

Brown Bag Seminars to begin on Saturdays at Five Rings

An idea was presented to Professor Tom - Why don't we do some "brown bag seminars" on topics of interest ... hosted by people that are passionate about the idea?

Brilliant!

Five Rings is committed to presented world-class Jiu Jitsu technique in a thoughtful, organized, professional manner. However, we don't want to neglect cool topics or ideas / concepts that don't follow under the umbrella of classical or orthodox Jiu Jitsu.

Therefore, beginning on Saturday, September 23, Five Rings will begin for the foreseeable future, the "brown bag series" that will replace the BJJ 4 class from 9:30 - 11:00 am. A topic will be addressed anywhere from four to twelve weeks - it depends on what the presenter wants.

These sessions are open to everyone (from absolute beginners through twenty year veterans - do we ever stop learning and growing?) ... they are great way to deepen your understanding and overall awareness of Jiu Jitsu.

Professor Nathan Jeffers is passionate
about staying on the mat and continuing to train for years to come

Our first topic will be "Jiu Jitsu Longevity - Learning how to roll for a life time in a sustainable, body friendly manner" presented by Professor Nathan Jeffers.

If you are a purple belt or higher and have an idea of a brown bag session you'd like to share with the academy, present it to Professor Tom and get the ball rolling. We want this to be a place where unconventional or off-the-beaten-path dimensions of Jiu Jitsu have an opportunity to be shared and practiced.
