Coach's Corner - Thoughts, Tips, and Guidance for a Successful Jiu Jitsu Journey | #26

Coach's Corner - Thoughts, Tips, and Guidance for a Successful Jiu Jitsu Journey | #26

Back Health and Coach Tom's Daily Routine

This week's Coach's Corner focuses on rehab / prehab.

The four most common injuries / issues among grapplers are:

      1. Back - particularly lower back

      2. Neck

      3. Shoulders

      4. Knees

Check out what Coach Tom has to share regarding his experience with a "challenging" back and the solutions / best known methods he's found to work for him (12:05):

Here are the links to the videos Coach Tom referred to:

1. Block and strap -  HERE

2. Foundation Series / Basic -  HERE

3. Foundation Series / More Challenging -  HERE

I did one of these vids everyday for four months straight when I was struggling and I believe they really helped me get around the corner to much better and consistent back health.

I do a minimum of 5 - 8 minutes of back specific movements every day. It's just what I have to do if I want to stay out of acute, chronic back pain.

How's your prehab / rehab work? Are you doing things daily to keep you on the mat for the long term?

More to come ... stay tune.  ;-)

Do. Daily. Forever! ! !
