Youth Black Belt Club - What is it and how do I join?

Five Rings has just recently launched our Youth Jr. Black Belt Club!

What is it?

The Jr. Black Belt Club (BBC) is a special group of kids that are committed to earning their Jr. Black Belt in Jiu Jitsu at Five Rings.

The group has three core focuses:

     1.  Having fun and encouraging a deeper love for Jiu Jitsu - both the martial art and the life style. We focus on techniques and moves that are not a part of the belting curriculum. The emphasis is on discovering all the cool facets of Jiu Jitsu.

     2.  Warrior Kid Series - the attitude of a Warrior (growth mindset, grit, etc) + staying on "the path"

     3.  Being a support group to help young boys and girls get through the challenges, obstacles, and hard times of the long journey to Jr. Black Belt. Achieving a Jr. Black Belt is a life-time achievement / a marathon. It takes perseverance and grit. Kids will learn strategies to stay committed long-term and not give up in the middle of their journey.

As a member of the BBC, your son / daughter will get the following:

  • Their name on the Jr. Black Belt Wall of Commitment
  • A BBC patch
  • Their own Jiu Jitsu Journal
  • Jocko Willink’s book, Way of the Warrior Kid

The Jr. BBC meets every Friday from 6 - 7 pm.

If your son or daughter is interested in  being a part of the Jr. Black Belt Club, print out an application (here) and turn it into a youth coach before Friday, December 13. We're launching a new class of BBC beginning January 2020.
